In this week’s Legal Brief I cover the importance of always using a Client Agreement when you do business whether online or in “real life”. As always, it sets up clear expectations which will help you avoid potential problems and misunderstandings in the future.

We often think that there’s no way we’ll forget what was agreed to, or that there’s no way your bestie will flop out and not perform her half of the bargain.  But, we’re all human and very busy humans at that.  Misunderstandings happen among the best of us, so writing everything out is not only good business…it’s a darn good idea in general.

 

Do you already use a Client Agreement in your business?

If not, don’t stress out and don’t overthink it. Sure, you should hire an attorney to draft one for you as soon as you can, but in the meantime write out all the details that both parties have agreed to, sign it, date it, and move on.
